Upcoming Shows

Happy New Year! I hope 2013 is a great year for us all. We are finalizing the tour schedules and dates for the St Patrick’s Season Concerts so they will be posted soon. The All-Ireland Fleadh is in Derry this year so about 20 minutes from where I am in the photo! I am so excited to perform at it and at festivals in Northern Ireland in August.

With the overhelming response to the soundtrack music and requests for the music of  ”No Eye To Pity Her”, we are going to start recording my first Celtic Album and these tracks will be available on the new CD. This photo of ‘horses on the beach’ was taken at nightfall in Inishowen while I was on tour in Ireland.

A Celtic Christmas in the Chapel

It’s the Season to be jolly!! Christmas & Celtic Concert at the Chapel with Katie McD & the Cross-County Band.

Katie McD and her Irish Cross-County Band will perform a flavorful old-fashioned Celtic & Christmas variety show. Doused with a mixture of traditional Celtic and popular Irish music, Katie McD, Dan Kellar and Martin Butler are sure to feed your nostalgia for the ‘old country’. The night wouldn’t be complete without Peggy Woods School of Irish Dance stepping out to the beat. We will be inviting the kids in the audience to join us on stage for the Christmas sing-out finale. Thanks for all the support this year. Wishing you all the best for the holidays.

RESERVATIONS:  Tickets may also be reserved and pledged by email: katiemcdmusic@gmail.com. Please honor your pledge and pay at the door.

The Homeland

A VISIT TO THE HOMELAND: It is so great to be home and have a good dollop of my mother’s cooking! I am having a traditional Irish fry every morning cooked by yours truly. While home, I am doing a mini-tour of Ireland taking in some of my favourite people and places. The first leg of the tour begins in Inishowen with a private house concert, then it’s off to O’Flaherty’s Pub in Buncrana for a session, followed by another session in Campbell’s pub in Headford and the final gig is in Cork.  This is a grand chance to breathe in the Holy Ground and to reunite with some great friends. So excited to play at The Hole in the Wall Pub and then I fly to America and bring a bit of home back to my Irish friends wishing they were home with you beautiful people. I know it is a whirlwind but if you are around, come down and let’s catch up and hang out! Friends and fans, don’t forget to get the cuppa ready for me!

The Word

It’s going to be a busy Fall season. With lots of concerts from Golf Tournaments to Pig Roasts to Christmas Concerts! I look forward to getting back in the swing of it all. THANK YOU all for your support in this sad time for me. Losing my best friend, Tanya Connolly in a traffic accident has been a devastating experience. I know the songs are to come but until then, I ask you to treasure each moment with your family, friends and loved ones. Say GOODBYE and let go of the grudges. Life is too short, don’t sweat the small stuff. Enjoy the bigger picture. We are all here for such a short time. In that time, I hope we can have fun and sing the songs we love, tell the stories that make us laugh and dance to a tune that makes our hearts happy enough to miss a beat.
