Shows

March is a busy month for Katie McD. She is available for concerts, events and house parties. Katie McD performs solo or with a band. She loves house parties as the Irish wit and brogue bring much fun and entertainment to her audiences. One of her favorite concerts of the year is for McParland Realty. An Irish family holding on to the traditions of word of mouth to tout for new business, they throw an annual St Patrick’s Party.  With a hundred  ballad songbooks ready for all the eager singers, a number is called and then the corresponding song is sung. Then the tables and chairs are cleared as soon as the Irish food is gobbled and the dancing begins. Everyone in the neighborhood begs to be invited.

A Celtic Concert in the Chapel

The historic 192-year-old gothic-revival styled St. Augustine Chapel is located in South Boston, at 181 Dorchester Street between West Sixth and Tudor streets. Katie McD and her Cross-County Band will perform an upbeat Irish flavored variety show … a mixture of traditional Celtic and popular Irish music and song.

The talented trio will journey through Ireland with songs from the lilting vocals of Katie McD, poems and ‘stories from home’ by the ever- witty bodhran player, Martin Butler and features the flaming fiddle tunes of Matt Leavenworth. Come down and wile the night away as you stomp out to the beat to celebrate a good time and the advent of St Patrick Day.  This unique salute to St. Patrick concert is a presentation by the South Boston Youth Ambassadors to raise funds for their activities. The Woods School of Irish Dance will grace us once again with their championship Irish dancers.
